The Revelation: “…So Shall it be, Amen!” (2011)

Published on January 1, 2011 by in Store Music

The songs from this collection were inspired by the book of Revelation, songs that reflect the glory, honor, and praise due our God, and what our lifestyle of worship should look like here on earth. A variety of styles ranging from the driving, exciting titles like “Run,” and “Somebody Say Amen”, to the passionate “You did it for the world you love” and “The Voice of Jesus,” to the glorious, “The Revelation, So Shall it Be” that speaks of the return of our Lord for His Bride. These songs are designed for the contemporary worshiping church, and work for small groups, choir, and with the congregation.

SCRIPTURE: From the Book of Revelation, esp: Rev 1:1-7; chp 2-3—’these are the words..’ for the 7 churches; 22:17

CHORUS 1
Listen, listen to the Spirit, Listen to the Spirit of God
Listen, listen to the Spirit, Listen to the Spirit of God
Listen, Can you hear the Spirit? Can you hear the Spirit of God?
The Spirit, the Spirit and the Bride, the Spirit and the Bride say, come, come, come, come

VERSE 1 (collective worship)
Part 1: come and worship, come and worship, come and worship, come and worship
Part 2: holy, holy; holy, holy; holy, holy; holy, holy
Part 3: Worthy is the Lamb, to receive power, glory and honor, and all the praise
Part 4: You are worthy, You are worthy, You are worthy, You are worthy
Part 5: Hallelujah
Part 6: spiritual song—the new song; the Spirit-song.

NARRATIVE (spoken)
[While Verse 1 is sung] “These are the words of Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lamp stands. These are the words of Him who is the First and the last, who died and came to life again. These are the words of Him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. These are the words of Him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains. These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what He shuts, no one can open. These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. Be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

ENDING (vocal) TAG:
Listen, listen to the Spirit, listen to the Spirit of God
Listen, listen to the Spirit, listen to the Spirit of God

[Demo | Acc Trax | Lead Sheet w/chords available]

HISTORY: music by Jim Lucas , c. 2011, words by Thomas O Chisholm, 1897 modified and original words by Jim Lucas, Aug 26, 2011
SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:29-30God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun. [See also, Philippians 2: 5-11]

VERSE 1
O to be like You, Jesus, Redeemer, this is my constant longing and prayer
Gladly I give up all of earth‟s treasures, Jesus, Your perfect likeness to wear

CHORUS
O to be like You, Jesus, Redeemer; O to be like You, pure as You are
Come in Your newness, come in Your fullness
Mold me and make me in the image of You. O to be like You

VERSE 2
O to be like You, Lord I am ready; pour out from heaven, on me, I pray
All that I am, Lord, and have, I am bringing, Yes, from this moment, you have it all

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE
O to be like You, Lord, I am pleading; pour out Your Spirit on me, I pray
Make me a temple fit for your dwelling, ready for life and heaven above.
(repeat)
O to be like You, O to be like You. O to be like You, O to be like You

ENDING TAG
O to be like You, Jesus, Redeemer, O to be like You, pure as You are
O to be like You, Jesus, Redeemer, this is my constant longing and prayer

HISTORY: written: Wednesday August 30, 2011
SCRIPTURE: “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance…” *Romans 1:16 AMP+ Also, “and the presence of the Lord was with them with power, so that a great number [learned] to believe (to adhere to and trust in and rely on the Lord) and turned and surrendered themselves to Him” *from Acts 11:21 AMP] AMP from Philippians 2:1-13 5Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] 6Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, 7But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. 8And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross9Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, 10That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 2Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ). 13[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

VERSE 1
Vulnerable and totally surrendered; Vulnerable and totally surrendered
To You God, to Your Son, Yes, here I am for Your Holy Spirit
Vulnerable and totally surrendered; Vulnerable and totally surrendered
Your will, not mine; Your way, not mine; Vulnerable and totally surrendered.

VERSE 2
Vulnerable and totally surrendered; Vulnerable and totally surrendered
Lord, do in me, what You see is best for me through Your Holy Spirit
Vulnerable and totally surrendered; Vulnerable and totally surrendered
Your will, not mine; Your way, not mine; Vulnerable and totally surrendered.

[play through song while these words are spoken]

SPOKEN:
Though You are God, You made Yourself nothing. in every way You humbled yourself here, Till time rendered you weak, beat up and bullied. How vulnerable a God you proved to be. But it was then You showed how much you loved us to take all of our pain and suffering, And from Your death God raised you up in glory and said “Jesus is the name above all names.” How can I do anything less than surrender, and be totally vulnerable

TAG
Vulnerable and totally surrendered; Vulnerable and totally surrendered
Your will, not mine; Your way, not mine, Vulnerable and totally surrendered.

HISTORY: written: Wednesday, Sept 7-9, 2011 during one of the worst seasons of rain, flooding (following a east coast hurricane), to even flooding in our basement. One observation of many I had. On Thursday night as we were pumping out water I notices how amazingly clear the water was. It’s because it was coming from beneath the house. The saturation level of the water was so much that the ‘overflow’ came in. The Challenge: is my life so full of ‘water’ (Holy Spirit), that it floods over into other people’s lives. I pray so, Lord Jesus.
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:23-27 They (disciples) were amazed, that ‘even the winds and the wave obey him.’

VERSE 1
In the times when life is overwhelming, And the struggles seem insurmountable
When nothing I do seems to go right, no matter how hard I try
I’ve learned to rest, and give it all to Jesus, knowing He is the answer to my prayers
So when the waves are beating high, and the winds are raging strong,
I turn my ear to Him who’ll rescue me.

CHORUS 1
That’s when I hear the voice of Jesus call my name.
I hear the voice of Grace and Mercy, say, “don’t be afraid.”
I hear the voice of Christ my Savior say, “peace, be still”
And all the winds and waves of my life obey the voice of Jesus.

VERSE 2
In those times when I don’t think He’s speaking, If I’ll be still, I’ll know He is there.
Emmanuel, He’s with me, this Mighty God, yet Lover of my soul!
I’ve learned to place my faith and trust in Jesus, and it’s His voice, the voice I long to hear
When the waves are beating high, and the winds are raging strong,
I turn my ear to Him who’ll rescue me.

BRIDGE
(so) if you think you’re gonna drown and there’s no one around
See your Savior standing by; hear the voice of Jesus
He’s calling out to you, He’s reaching out to you.
Say, ‘Lord, here I am, here I am.’

CHORUS 2
That’s when you’ll hear the voice of Jesus call your name.
You’ll hear the voice of Grace and Mercy, say, ‘don’t be afraid.’
You’ll hear the voice of Christ the Savior say, ‘peace, be still’
As all the winds and waves of your life obey the voice of Jesus.

CHORUS 3
I love to hear the voice of Jesus call my name.
I love the voice of Grace and Mercy, saying, ‘don’t be afraid.’
I love the voice of Christ my Savior saying, ‘peace, be still’
As all the winds and waves of my life obey the voice of Jesus; The voice of Jesus.

This song is written for the faithful life of worship she lived, and the worship she continues to express to her Lord in heaven, with all the others who have ‘gone on before.’ Written as if Pat could sing these words in the very presence of Jesus (a ‘heaven-language’ if you will)

Hallelujah, to You alone; Hallelujah, for endless days

CHORUS 1
Forever I will worship, forever I will sing; forever I will praise You, Lord, my King of kings.

You are worthy of glory and praise. You are worthy, worthy always
For the Lord God Almighty reigns, Hallelujah, for endless days.

BRIDGE

Lead Sheet (Free) | 30 Second Sample (Free) | Demo ($1.29) | Track(s) ($1.29)

Words/music by Jim Lucas, c. 2011

HISTORY: written: March 15, 2011; Written as a response in considering once again what Jesus did for the world, on the cross, during the Season of Lent. What a precious Savior we serve. It is my honor to serve such a wonderful, personal God. Of course, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world,” is an incredible reminder of the price He paid to save us from our sins. I’m so glad I’m part of the “whosoever believes on his name.”

VERSE 1
Could I endure the shame, Could I endure the pain as you did, Savior, Jesus?
You endured my shame. You endured my pain on the cross, my Savior, Jesus.
What You did, and what You bore, The beatings and the crown of thorns,
O what love, You paid the debtor’s cost.

CHORUS 1
You did it for redemption’s plan; You did it all for fallen man
You came to set all people free, I know your plan included me
Oh precious Lamb who bore my sin, You died and then You rose again
You did it for me, You did it for the world you love.

VERSE 2
Where would I be today, if not for Calvary where You died, my Savior, Jesus?
Victory was won, heav’ns enduring Son, on the cross, My Savior, Jesus
What You did, and what You bore, The beatings and the crown of thorns,
O what love, You paid the debtor’s cost.

BRIDGE
For God so loved the world, He gave His Son
That if we would believe on Jesus’ name, We would have life, eternal life.

Words/music by Jim Lucas, B.W. Hambrick c. 2011

HISTORY: writing for this song began Sunday morning (midnight) Feb 15, 2011; revised Feb 15) Written as a response to Hebrews 4:1-16; (a two-part sermon series with Pastor Hambrick, senior pastor-Ephrata Church of the Nazarene) and God’s invitation for us to rest in Him, as a way of life, regardless of circumstance, regardless of anything. With the collaboration of Pastor Hambrick, we looked over the original lines together (Feb 15) and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, revised the ‘original’ language to what we now sing, especially the fact of claiming His promise of Sabbath rest. [it was one of those God moments when he came to my office to ask me about something totally unrelated; and in those brief moments together, the original language, tempo, and meter changed, for the glory of God). Our God is a very good God and His Word is our Truth forever.

CHORUS
I choose to rest in Your presence, surrendering all that I am I’m claiming the promise You’ve given TODAY, as I hear Your voice.
You have a place that is holy. Lord, You have a place full of mercy
You have a place for the believing heart. By faith, I will enter, Lord, I will enter.
By faith I will enter Your Sabbath rest.

VERSE 1
I will, I will, I will, I will, for You have a place for the believing heart,
By faith, I will enter Your Sabbath rest. (repeat)

ENDING
I’m claiming the promise You’ve given, I claim Your Sabbath rest.

SCRIPTURE: Doxology is a compound tem that comes to us from the Greek language in which the New Testament was written. Doxos means glory and logos means word. A Doxology is a word of glory or praise to God. For instance: Revelation 7:12 “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!” or Revelation 1:6b “To Him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen!” Or Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” (from the greater doxology, Gloria in excelsis Deo) or Psalm 41:13 “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.” Or Psalm 72:19 “Praise be to His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen!”

A doxology is NOT, I repeat, NOT morbid, solemn, dreary. It is a time of praise and worship. When it was used in the Word, it came as a conclusion to a section, and a recognition of the greatness of our God. It is a short prayer or hymn of praise that has as its only purpose: to extol and glory and majesty of God. Psalm 106:48 “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, Amen! Praise the Lord.”
