HISTORY: written: September 17, 2009; Ephrata, PA) ….at the close of our 8am pastoral prayer time We all have our places of worship: it may be a corporate time at 110 Durlach Rd; it may be while you run track, or drive your truck, or run your business. No matter the place, God calls us to praise His holy name and wherever that place is, it is a place of worship

SCRIPTURE: 11 Go now to your countrymen in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.” 12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound—May the glory of the LORD be praised in his dwelling place!- 13 the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound. [Ezekiel 3:11-13]

CHORUS
This is a place of worship, this is a place of praise
This is a place where we meet God and bless His holy name
This is the place of refuge, a holy ground,
This is the place of worship, a place of praise

VERSE 1
There’s something about Your presence, Lord, that draws us to this holy place
There’s something about Your voice that makes us sing and makes us want to shout aloud our praise

VERSE 2
There’s something about Your love, O Lord, that draws us to this holy place
There’s something about Your grace that makes us sing And makes us want to shout aloud our praise

HISTORY: written: August 2, 2009;

SCRIPTURE: “The whole earth falls to its knees-it worships You, sings to you, can’t stop enjoying your name and fame. Take a good look at God’s wonders—they’ll take your breath away. He converted sea to dry land, travelers crossed the river on foot. Now isn’t that cause for a song? // “I’m bring my prizes and presents to Your house. I’m doing what I said I would do, that day when I was in so much trouble. All believers, come here and listen, let me tell you what God did for me, I called out to Him with my mouth. He most surely listened and He came on the double when He heard my prayer” [The Message: [Psalm 66: various]

CHORUS 1
Let all the earth fall to its knees and bow before
You, O God Let all the earth shout out
Your praise and magnify Your great name!
When I look at all Your wonders,
Lord, it takes my breath away, away.
Let all the earth lift up its hands and be still before You, God.
All the earth observe Your glory and be fully amazed
When I look at all Your wonders, Lord, it takes my breath away
Lord, it takes my breath away.

VERSE 1
Come, let me tell you what the Lord has done.
Let me tell you how He rescued me.
In desperation I let out a cry and He heard me,
He heard me I can tell you that without a doubt,
In His love, my Lord was reaching out
Without delay He was by my side and He saved me, He saved me.

BRIDGE 1
Jesus, You’re the cause of my song;
Jesus, with you I belong
Jesus, You’re the cause of the song I sing (repeat)

Words/music by Jim Lucas, c. 2009

HISTORY: written: chorus written: July 27. Verses/bridge July 31) Written for the Ephrata Women’s Ministry Retreat, October 2009 THEME: G.O.L.F. — God Offers Life Forever.

Scripture: Jesus responded: “The real significance of that scripture (regarding Moses: “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”) is not that Moses gave you bread from heaven but that my Father is right now offering you bread from heaven, the real bread. The Bread of God came down out of heaven and is giving life to the world.” (Message: John 6:32-33) Also from John 6:39ff “This is what My Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with Him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time. Continuing from v47: Whoever believes in me has real life, eternal life. I am the Bread of Life. From John 3:14-16 “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.[NIV] John 6:68 from the lips of Peter when he says: Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” And Jesus’ words from John 17:2-3 For you (God) granted Him (Jesus) authority over all people that He might give eternal life to all those you have given Him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

VERSE 1
I have a life that’s free!
I have a hope that’s sure!

Jesus gave me life, Jesus gave me hope.
Jesus gave the song that I must sing. (hey, hey, hey—shouted!!)

He offers salvation from His heart to yours, if you will confess and believe.

This is it! A life everlasting forever with Jesus.
This is it!

HISTORY: written: September 24, 2009; Ephrata, PA) …Thursday evening while walking with my wife, Joanna, and synthesizing the plans for the upcoming Worship Workshop 2009, knowing we are going to be recognizing Global Worship and what God is calling us to be about in our global outlook for eternity’s sake. Lord, help us see the world like You see it, and be willing to listen, and respond (be obedient) to Your divine call.

CHORUS
I want to be included in what You’re doing, Lord,
Here at home, down the street, and all around the world.
Give me a global passion to see the world like You

HISTORY: written: Wednesday, August 5, 2009; drawn to verse in Isaiah on Sept 23, and completed on Sept 25)
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. [NIV] or from the New Century Version: 18 The Lord says, “Come, let us talk about these things. Though your sins are like scarlet, they can be as white as snow. Though your sins are deep red, they can be white like wool. 19 If you become willing and obey me, you will eat good crops from the land.”

SCRIPTURE: Also, from John 10:16-18 (New International Version) 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURE: John 12:27 “Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. John 18:36-38 36Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” 37″You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” 38″What is truth?” Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him. Romans 14:9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

CHORUS 1
For this reason He came to earth;
For this reason He loved
For this reason He taught the way;
For this reason He prayed
For this reason He paid the price;
For this reason He died
For this reason He rose again;
For this reason, He lives

VERSE 1
“Come, let us reason together, Let us reason,” says the Lord.
Though your sins are red like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.

BRIDGE
Thank You for Your salvation;
Thank You, Lord, for the cross.
Thank You for Your forgiveness, and for a heart cleansed from sin.

CHORUS
For this reason You came to earth;
For this reason You loved
For this reason You taught the way;
For this reason You prayed
For this reason You paid the price;
For this reason You died
For this reason You rose again;
For this reason, You live.

CHORUS 3
I’m so grateful You came to earth;
I’m so grateful You loved
I’m so grateful You taught the way;
I’m so grateful You prayed
I’m so grateful You paid the price;
I’m so grateful You died
I’m so grateful You rose again;
I’m so grateful You live.

Song 10 – Jesus, My Only Treasure

HISTORY: written: September 19, 2009; Ephrata, PA) ….Saturday evening, spending time pondering some 600 names of Jesus from both the Old and New Testament. It is an awesome, humbling, revering thing to sit and study the names of Jesus and what it signifies and represents about our Master and Lord, and what it speaks to us about His attributes. The song is like a treasure chest that is filled with the treasures of the names of Jesus. The first verse is simply my finite attempt to tell Jesus just how much He means to me, and the desire of my heart that He is my only Treasure, passion, joy, Savior, freedom, and peace. The following verses are names of Jesus. Here are but a few of those 600 names and references and those that I used in “Jesus, My Only Treasure.”

SCRIPTURE: Hope of Glory—Col 1:27 // Bread of Life—John 6:35 // Faithful and True—Rev 19:11 Deliver—Romans 11:26 // King Eternal—I Timothy 1:17 // Lion (of the tribe) of Judah—Rev 5:5 Savior—Ephesians 5:23 // Truth—John 1:14 // Way—John 14:6 // Prince of Peace—Isaiah 9:6 A Wall of Fire—Zechariah 2: // This Treasure—II Corinthians 4:7

NOTE ON THE ‘COMING CONQUEROR’: This is a phrase that one compiler has used in reference to the Book of Revelation. He writes: “The plot of the book of Revelation, particularly from chapter four to the end, views Jesus as the legitimate One to possess the title-deed of the world and notes the preparations in Heaven and events on earth which are necessary for Jesus to claim what is rightfully His and to establish His kingdom. This plot reaches a climax in chapter nineteen, where the second coming of Christ in glory is described. In that passage, Christ is identified by five significant names (19:11-16). The first of these conquering names of Christ is “Faithful and True” (19:11).” Then also, The second name John records in this passage is “a name written, that no man knew, but he himself” (19:12).

ADDITIONAL NOTE: It is clear there is no limit to all Jesus is in regard to His names. It would be futile even to try to speculate as to the particular significance of this unknown name in Revelation 19:12. Its presence in Scripture reminds us again that Jesus has a name for every need, even if we don’t know the name specifically. Thirdly, Jesus is called “The Word of God” (19:13). He is the idea or expression of God Himself. A fourth name mentioned in this passage is “Almighty God” (19:15) Finally, John notes the published name embroidered into His garment, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (19:16). This title of Christ emphasizes the absolute sovereignty of Jesus

VERSE 1
Jesus, my only Treasure, my only passion; my only joy.
Jesus, my only Savior, my only freedom, my only peace. (repeat)

VERSE 2
Jesus, my Hope of Glory, my King Eternal, my Bread of Life Jesus
My Lion of Judah, my Wall of Fire, my Truth and Way

VERSE 3
Jesus, my strong Deliverer, my Coming Conquerer,
Faithful and True Jesus, the Lord of all the earth, the Name above all Names.
My God and King

REPEAT VERSE 1

Song 11 – The Best Song (is the one that’s still to come)

[Ideal for TRIO voices]
Lead Sheet (Free) | 30 Second Sample (Free) | Demo ($1.29) | Track(s) ($1.29)

HISTORY: written: August 3 & 20, 2009; While driving and thinking about all the wonderful songs I’ve had the privilege to write along with all the other 1000’s of songwriters, this message came through loud and clear: The best song is the one that’s still to come. Song completed (verses) at church while preparing for message 8 in the Dr. David Jeremiah series: What in the World is Going on?

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 14:3 “This wonderful choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God” (CEV)

VERSE 1
We have sung our songs of praise and of deliv’rance;
They have meant the world to us in times of need.
We have sung our songs of joy in honor of our God
And found our spirits soaring in the clouds.
But there’s still a song that we have not encountered,
That goes beyond what we have ever known
A melody more stunning than we’ve ever heard
And a choir singing harmonies unknown

CHORUS
The best song is the one that’s still to come
The song that will be heard in the Promised Land
The song that the Redeemed will sing in praises to the glorious King
The best song is the one that’s still to come.
The best song is the one that all of heaven
Is rehearsing for that grand and glorious day
When the Bride of Christ will gather with the Lamb of God
Oh, the best song is the one that’s still to come.

VERSE 2
We have sung the songs of faith through good and bad times;
As we’ve sung each verse, we’ve felt sustaining grace
We have sung the songs of hope and knew the Lord was there
Protecting and providing ev’rything
But there’s still a song that hasn’t been recorded,
That goes beyond what we have ever sung
With words of awe and endless adoration
Oh! To join that eternal choir then

HISTORY: written: September 12, 2009; 10pm; Ephrata, PA; From Revelation 4:11; 5:11 an incredible portion of scripture. Little did I know that our Sunday School class, led by Doug Weaver, would be talking about these very verses. By the end of class I shared that God had given me this song. The Spirit of the Lord was moving upon us throughout the class, as His Spirit moved, talked, comforted, and reminded us of the coming time of Jesus. There were many tears of joy as we shared together and prayed together. Thank You Jesus.

CHORUS 1
Worthy is the Lamb (3x)
Who was slain
To receive pow’r and riches, wisdom and strength
Glory and honor, and all of the praise.
Worthy, worthy is the Lamb

HISTORY: written: October 1, 2009; Ephrata, PA) ….Thursday evening while driving and being directed by the Spirit to Ephesians, chapter 6. In this day and time, maybe more than any other time in at least American history, we must stand for Jesus; stand for what is right, and true, and holy. And the Word reminds us of our weaponry “against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.” *Contemporary English v+

SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:10-17; God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. 13-18Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. [Message]

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURE FROM THE CEV: 10Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. 11Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil’s tricks. 12We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. 13So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day [a] comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm. 14Be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God’s justice protect you like armor. 15Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet. 16Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Let God’s saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God’s message that comes from the Spirit.[CEV]

CHORUS
We will stand, we will stand
In the name of the Lord; by the pow’r of His might!
We will stand, we will stand, with the armor of God we will stand.

VERSE 1
From the top of our head, to the soles of our feet,
God has provided the weapons we need
We put on the truth, the peace and the faith, with God’s Word and prayer, and having done all

VERSE 2
The armor’s not heavy; it is God’s plan to cover His children with His mighty hand
No reason to fear the battles we face. We’re promised vict’ry in Jesus’ name

BRIDGE
He is our Captain,
He is our Cornerstone
He is our Refuge,
He is our Strength and Shield

CHORUS 2
In Him we’ll stand, we will stand;
In the name of the Lord; by the pow’r of His might!
We will stand, we will stand, with the armor of God we will stand.

REPEAT CHORUS 1

In all of Your ways
We give You praise
We give You praise

VERSE 2
Your ways are righteous.
Your ways are true
Your ways are not like ours, O Lord, O Lord.
Your ways bring pardon, Your ways bring peace
Your ways are not like ours, O Lord, O Lord.

BRIDGE
In all our ways we will acknowledge,
there’s no other god but You Lord we surrender.
How we need You! Direct our path and see us through

HISTORY: written: October 6, 2009; BlackRock Retreat Center, PA) ….I had just woken up and prayed with Joanna by phone. She said, “you can go back to sleep now” (it had been a short night!) I laid in bed and these words began to touch my prayer spirit. Of course I had to get up, but not before I waited on God to give me what He needed to say to me and to the body of Christ. So our hearts cry to be seeking God and His fresh infilling even before our feet touch the floor as we awake.

VERSE 1
Send the rain, send the rain
Let the rain of Your Spirit fall on me, I pray
Let the rain of Your Spirit stir my heart today.
Send the rain, Lord, send the rain

VERSE 2
Send the rain, send the rain.
Let the pow’r of Your Spirit come fill me, I pray
Empty self from this vessel, till there’s only You.
Send the rain, Lord, send the rain
